What you will do.
Role Objective
The Senior MIS Analyst is a critical role responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing key operational data. Your primary focus will be designing and maintaining interactive dashboards that translate complex datasets into easy-to-understand visual insights. This role directly supports strategic decision-making by providing accurate, automated, and timely business analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Dashboard Development:
Design, build, and maintain interactive, visually appealing dashboards using modern BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel Power Pivot/Query).
Implement data visualization best practices to ensure clear messaging.
Automate existing manual reports and dashboard updates to reduce errors and save time.
Data Management & Integration:
Connect disparate data sources (e.g., CRM, ERP, SQL databases, API feeds, flat files) into unified datasets for analysis.
Maintain data integrity and validate information for accuracy before dissemination.
Ensure data security protocols are followed when sharing sensitive reports.
Strategic Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports for diverse stakeholders, including C-suite executives.
Go beyond simple numbers; perform variance analysis, trend forecasting, and exploratory analysis to identify business opportunities or operational bottlenecks.
Analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and alert management to significant deviations from plan.
Process Improvement & Leadership:
Identify opportunities to streamline data collection processes and reporting workflows across departments.
Mentor and train junior MIS staff or other teams on basic data analysis techniques and tool usage.
What we are looking for.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
Technical Skillset (Mandatory):
Advanced Excel: Complete mastery of nested formulas (IFS, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH), Power Query (M), Power Pivot (DAX), and intricate Pivot Tables. (Must be able to build dynamic, fully interactive dashboards without VBA where appropriate).
BI & Dashboard Tools: Hands-on experience (ideally 2+ years) with Power BI (Desktop & Service) or Tableau, creating complex calculations, visualizations, and scheduled refreshes.
Data Manipulation: Proficient with data blending, cleansing, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) principles.
Technical Skillset (Strongly Preferred):
SQL: Solid understanding of writing complex queries (joins, subqueries) to pull and analyze data directly from databases.
VBA: Ability to write and troubleshoot macros for complex automation (if existing processes require it).
Python/R: Basic knowledge is a plus (e.g., using libraries like Pandas for data preparation).
Soft Skills:
Analytical Mindset: Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to ask the "why" behind the data.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous and quality-conscious; must spot discrepancies that others might miss.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain technical findings to non-technical business leaders.
